Navy Landing Force Trains For Emergency Exercise In Coronado
Coronado bay front hosts 200 sailors from Destroyer Division 72 for a Saturday morning emergency landing drill. Under Comdr. C P Hunter and Comdr. W H Sanders Jr the force will land in five craft to set up relief HQ, unload food and medical supplies, establish a depot and communications to aid distressed residents after a simulated disaster. The drills recall Navy aid at Long Beach after the 1933 quake.

New Crosswalks For the Avenue Ready This Week
City announces 26 crosswalks at Orange Avenue intersections will be completed this week at about $900. Construction by city street employees began last Friday at the El Cordova Hotel area and, barring rain, should finish by the end of the week up to First Street and Orange Avenue.

Thousands of car owners in Coronado Imperial Beach and Palm City used the Coronado Chamber of Commerce car registration service. The period January 10 to February 5 raised about $38 000 with help from VFW Auxiliary Republican Women’s Club and Business and Professional Women’s Club volunteers.
