Meanest Thief Steals Dimes Box From Post Office
Coronado police search for a thief who took a March of Dimes collection box from the Post Office lobby last Saturday morning. The box held about $15 to $20, according to Coronado March of Dimes chairman Louis Pollack, as the drive runs through February 12.

Coronado residents are urged to donate before February 12 as the March of Dimes campaign extends. Chairman Pollack says funds will cover care for polio cases through the next year with a county minimum goal of 125000, noting last year spending exceeded 166000 including 115000 from the National Foundation.

The Coronado police report 1948 traffic figures with 111 total accidents 67 in residential areas 24 in business 13 in school recreation zones. Orange Avenue led with 32 incidents Mullinix Drive eight Fourth Street seven. 120 male drivers 93 Coronado residents 38 nonresidents 26 service personnel. Excessive speed caused 15 crashes.
