Riverside groups back right of way for electric line

Corona leaders and Riverside Chamber of Commerce discussed routing the Pacific Electric line through Riverside center, seeking endorsement from local groups. The plan would keep trees along the avenue center with crossings required as roads increase, boosting prospects for the electric project.

Good Roads Committee to Recommend Road Macadamization

The Good Roads committee of the chamber of commerce met in city hall and plans to urge the chamber to back about 30 miles of macadamized roads in the district including Corona Elsinore Corona Riverside and roads north and northwest toward Archbald McCarty's corner and Slaughter hill. If approved the chamber will ask the supervisors for 10 miles of road and a counter fight may occur if Corona men oppose the bond issue. Corona Woman is Dead After Illness in California Home

Mrs Geo Barnes wife of 67 Barnes of this city died Tuesday at the family home on La Vietori avenue after illness. Funeral set for Thursday at Mountain View cemetery. Survived by husband two sons Irvin and Robert, two brothers Wales Jones Parker California and John Sherman Buffalo New York, and a sister Mrs Mary Thompson Woodville New York. Born May 28 1865 in Janes town New York she was adopted after being left motherless at six months. The family lived in Highland for many years where she was active in social circles and esteemed for her character. The bereaved include son Irvin, Robert, husband, two brothers, sister, and a wide circle of friends.
