Musicale at the Jameson Home Delights Attendees

One hundred fifty guests attended a Friday evening musicale at the Jameson home hosted by Mr. and Mrs. T. C. Jameson. Performers from Corona and local guests presented piano, vocal, and violin pieces with enthusiastic encores, followed by brick ice cream and cake.

Mission Studies Friday At Congregational Church

The Congregational church ladies plan a Friday 2 30 PM mission study session with historical sketches of early Protestant leaders and reports from the recent Redlands convention. Discussion will cover beard and other matters of interest to the movement, with a pleasant afternoon promised to attendees.

Riverside members of Casa Blanca Lawn Tennis club defeated Corona players in a Saturday challenge match at the Casa Blanca courts. Corona entrants included Charles Simmonds and Stanley Garvey among others. post-match supper and a Glenwood Mission Inn ball followed, hosted by Mr. and Mrs. DeWitt Hutchings and Miss Olivia Newman.

La Corona Opens Under Sparr in North Main

Manager N L Sparr opened the new La Corona moving picture house on North Main last night. Miss Mayme Findley performed as the opening attraction with several of her songs. The program included Cayhp Sensational Maine Logging and other features. The theater is sanitary with fire safeguards including an asbestos curtain and rear exits. The Independent predicts the refined house will bring success to the city.

Riverside Elks Buy Site for Lodge Home

Riverside Elks announce a new lodge home after purchasing a corner site at Market street and Whittier Place for 8200 dollars. An Elks organization will finance the project, with the purchase celebrated at a lodge meeting and banquet in the Odd Fellows hall.

Mrs J P Rice entertained about sixty guests at the T Jameson home last night. Selections from the opera Pinafore were performed with Dean as Joseph Porter and Lester Hampton as Captain Corderan. Florence Archer portrayed Josephine with Emily Jameson as Joseph Porter's cousin. Additional numbers came from Mrs Charles Hildreth and Mrs G R Freeman. Refreshments of hot tamales and fruit ade followed. guests called the evening delightful and instructive.

After a failed start toward town they abandoned the rig and walked, arriving late as they notified the livery driver where to locate the team.
