Mrs. C. C. Stone of Los Angeles will address the Woman's Improvement Club at Mrs. E. P. Newton's home on Tuesday May tenth. The aim is to form a Parent Teachers Association and inform members how other localities organize such groups.
A matter to be discussed at the Corona Tennis Club annual meeting Monday night is whether to buy grounds and build facilities with equipment for a club of this size. Ample grounds could be secured at nominal expense, with the balance paid from rental income from current properties. A favored plan is to form a local stock company and incorporate under state law so shareholders retain flexibility if they relocate.
Homeseekers to the number of 125 will arrive in Corona tomorrow afternoon at four on the Los Angeles Times special excursion. The train will stay an hour for visitors to tour the city and grove property, with autos needed to show the visitors around. A Board of Trade committee will canvass support and arrange transport, urging motorists to assist in presenting Corona’s prospects to arriving homeseekers.
Princess Long entertained a large Glass Hall audience Tuesday evening with songs and recitations. The program featured Life is Love, Loch Lomond, Magnetic Waltz, readings in Southern Dialect, Tommy Lad, Low Backed Car, Three Green Bonnets, Just by Laughing, The Merry Postillion, The Lost Word, and a Sacred Song.
Carl B. Hill wed Miss Nsy Moore in Marpigue Saturday night at the Christian parsonage with Rev. E J Clarlow. News reports Harry Moore and Nora Moorland married at Long Beach on April 27 and the couple reside with the Gleason family at Sixth Street.
The Tourist Delivery wagon owned by F M Baird is shown by W L Peeler. The vehicle is used by J W R Grocery Company. A ton can be attached to the car in fifteen minutes, making an up to date five passenger touring car.
J. T. Larrabee nearly fell for a practical joke when an apparent stranger entered the West Sixth street harness shop to view grave-work harness. The visitor revealed himself as Harry Freeman, an old Portsmouth, New Hampshire alderman, and the two recalled days past. Freeman stayed awhile and toured the city, hinting at a possible future relocation.
The Music Club elected officers for the ensuing year at Mrs E P Newton's home. President Mrs A W Bates, Vice President Mrs T C Jameson, Secretary Mrs C M Harding, Treasurer Mrs G R Freeman. Meetings will move to the High School auditorium next fiscal year.
William Riddle of this city, who underwent an operation in a Los Angeles hospital weeks ago and suffered a relapse Sunday, is reported to be on the road to recovery and will be removed to his home next week.
A drunken Mexican wandered onto a boulevard between East Seventh and HKighth streets mistaking a residence for his own. He fled when pursued by Nightwatchman Crawford and locals Hildreth and Miller, but was captured after a brief chase and housed in the city jail. The man, once a marathon champion, quipped at being outrun by locals.

Delegates chosen to Los Angeles Diocese convention to meet May 18 at St Paul s Pro Cathedral. Corona attendees include W R Billings Jas Watson Dr Huff Mr Fagg and Jno P Key.
A. F. Call of Corona, noted citrus grove owner, joined a large group of Southern California fruit growers at Colton. The delegation plans to travel to Washington to appear before the Interstate Commerce Commission for the final hearing on the fruit rate case against the railroads.
Mrs. Albert Dean with Mrs. Eaton and Mrs. Blickhahn left yesterday on the Overland to their eastern homes. Mr. Dean heads to Evanston. Mrs. Dean will detour to St Louis to visit before joining him in Evanston.
A linen shower in red and green honors Miss Bethel Barth who will marry Mr Earnest Ranton on the 18th. Attendees include Miss Inez Baker Miss Carrie Newkirk Miss Myrtle Newkirk Miss Florence Barber Miss Grace Smith Miss Agnes Cummings Miss Alice Ware Miss Marie Kidder Miss Okay Tara Okay Archer Pawley Gladys Pawley Gunn Pearl Gross Hull Mildred Hull Mrs Johnson Mrs Barth and Miss Barth.
Mrs. R S Dillman of Victorville plans a desert expedition to locate the famed Pegleg mine. She will be joined by J Rockefeller and Mat Thompson, both of Victorville, as the long elusive mine again draws explorers driven by tales dating back to Pegleg Smith.
In the Agama room of the Baptist church friends and members of the Agama class gathered for an informal farewell with songs and talks. They presented Mrs. Rebecca Crooks a silver gravy label and meat fork as a token of esteem. She plans to marry Mr. Hoffer of Albany Oregon and depart this week for that city.
Horace Allen, driver for Salt Lake Transfer, parties to a sale in which John F. Carstens becomes owner of a bungalow once home to the Allens before moving from Corona. Carstens’ parents will occupy the ranch northwest of town. Lot in Stockwell block valued around fifteen hundred dollars. Allen plans a new home in Arlington.
