Redmen kindle council fire in eight hearts

Wednesday evening the Corona tribe of the Improved Order of Red Men hosted a degree team from the Hiawatha tribe Riverside and a delegation from the Uplands lodge with Organizer Ellis. Eight candidates were raised to chieftainship and a large banquet followed with speeches praising local lodges and upcoming state meetings.

Havel Shipments Nearing an End

The last of the navel orange shipments have moved forward except at the National Orange company ranch. Sweets and St Michaels are now being picked for shipment. Lemon shipments run steadily all spring at satisfactory prices with Corona brands bringing top prices. The largest storage by one firm is forty cars. last year at this time stock was twice as large.

Congregational Church Plans New Ornate Edifice

After the fellowship meeting the building committee and attendees decided to proceed with the construction of a fine new church edifice costing about 2200 dollars. Plans and profiles indicate an ornate design.

Merger Rumor Ties Local Brick Firms to Southern Combine

A rumor says Corona Pressed Brick and Terra Cotta and Pacific Clay and Manufacturing will merge with other large Southern California brick plants. Mat Findley of this place is named to be general manager of the new combine as the two local firms ship about 100 carloads monthly.

Tuesday Musical Club Delights with Fine Entertainment

The Tuesday Musical Club presented a well ordered program at the high school auditorium assisted by harpist Signor Valenza of Riverside. Readings included Denza May Morning and Neid linger serenade with the Ladies' chorus, plus a baritone solo by W M Dean and several duets and solos. Proceeds will aid the purchase of a new piano for the club.

Lanterns Placed for Sewers in Alden Block

Beginning Tuesday morning workmen set lanterns for sewer work in the Alden store block. Geo Sargent of the Chop House paused business briefly, Ottis Ballard next door kept his cigar store open to allow space. By now commerce has regained decorum with improved conditions throughout.

Thirteen of 1910 Class Receive Diplomas at Ceremony

Thirteen members of the class of 1910 graduated last night in a high school ceremony lit by sweet peas and ferns. Prof W A Doran Dr Samuel G Burt and Rev Jacques led the program with music and speeches as diplomas were presented. Four legged chicken hatched by Wells innovator

J M Wells of this city reports a four legged chicken hatched by a Red Manarche hen. The creature appears to learn like the others and Wells predicts extra running gears when eating time comes.

Divorce Granted in Suit of J N King Against Myrtle D King

Attorney Walter Clayson represented J N King in a divorce action before Judge Densmore. An interlocutory decree of divorce was granted to the plaintiff after argument. Mrs King left a year and a half ago taking a valuable dog and has not been heard from since.

Frank Raeburn Pierson and Ghidys G Peters married at the car house with Justice Holton Webb officiating. The couple, recent Missouri arrivals, will make their home in Riverside.

Cucciso and Loypic Colo Wed in Local Church Ceremony

Mr. A Cucciso and Miss Loypic Colo were married at 6:15 am Wednesday in the Catholic church of this city by Father Cain. They will take a short wedding trip before returning to the city where the husband has business interests.

Judge Densmore sustains school site demurrer

Judge Densmore sustains a demurrer in J. J. Genereux v Board of Trustees Corona School District over purchasing block 172 for a grammar school site. The district argues January meeting authorized the purchase, while May meeting discussed an alternative and instructed reconsideration. Plaintiff given until June 4 to amend.

Suit for damages over storm drain construction claims

In Superior Court, attorney G R Freeman represents J M Woodruff and C Ouelat seeking 1200 damages from Garnsey and Pitzer contractors. Plaintiffs allege negligence in removing ditch planking during December and January storms, causing washout, soil loss, and damage to fruit trees and cultivated ground valued at 1600.

Sheriff Wilson of Riverside conducted a foreclosure sale in Corona on a growing lemon crop. The proceedings targeted the owner's holdings though an earlier foreclosure on both oranges and lemons left only the lemons to be sold.
