Robbery Attempt Fails in Queen City
Five masked men attempted a hold up near Texarkana on April 25 at the C. L. Cabe shingle mill. They tied the nightwatchman and a tramp named Woods to a track. Woods was shot dead as authorities engaged the robbers who fled into the woods after a brief battle. In Arkansas Federation of Women’s Clubs news, Mrs. A. B. TruJock was elected president at Pine Bluff with a slate of officers named for the coming year and a refuge meeting set for Fort Smith in April 190%.

General Order No. 14 from the United Sons of Confederate Veterans calls all Trans Mississippi camps to elect delegates and a sponsor for the 1901 national encampment in Memphis Tennessee May 28 to June 1.
