Fire destroyed the 1836 Washington Parmenter farm house on Parker Street in Maynard. Arvid and Mrs Salilsten escaped by rope after awakening to flames. Loss estimated at 6000 dollars, insured partly. Concord October 26 The Hayden Concert Company presented an entertaining opening program for the Concord Woman's Club at Odd Fellows Hall. Miss Hayden sang soprano solos and then impersonated feminine characters revealing the singer's masculine identity. A reception preceded the meeting and a federation report was given. A memorial service was noted for Mrs. Louise Waite who has been away since the last meeting. Tea and a banquet followed under Mrs. Frederick Taylor and others supervision.

At the Trinitarian Congregational church business meeting in the Chapel on Thursday afternoon members planned to raise one thousand dollars for the Church Building Fund by a rule that each member earns as many dollars as letters in her name. The Public Utilities Commission has removed all restrictions on Lovell Bus Lines Inc led by John Lovell to operate passengers from Concord Square to Fallon Road Lexington. Drowning After Car Goes Into River Near Wayland Center
A man and woman, Frank A. Stone aged 76 and Mrs. Stone 73, both Barre Mass residents, drowned when their car crashed through a fence at a bridge on the Wayland Center Sudley Center road and submerged in six feet of river water. Rescue teams recovered Mrs. Stone from the car and later the body of Mr. Stone. Dr. James Glass of Framingham medical examiner ruled accidental drownings. The accident was reported to Sudbury police and local authorities assisted in the rescue and investigation.
