Harvest fete raises funds for West Concord Union
The Ladies of the West Concord Union held a harvest supper at the Arvest fete on November 2. The event collected 70 dollars, with the union voting 15 dollars to Ada Graham and presenting two large plants for decorating. Committees were appointed for the annual sale led by John R.S. MacKend and a list of hostesses and volunteers named in attendance.

Fire devastates C. O. Parmenter Co mill near Boston Post Road
A major blaze near the Boston Post Road in South Sand destroyed the C. O. Parmenter Co mill and several sheds, with losses around 60 thousand dollars. Fire crews from Marlboro Weston Wayland Framingham and surrounding towns fought the flames, aided by pond water and the Wayside Inn apparatus. The fire was under control by 2 o'clock. Henry Ford’s plans for Sudbury were not affected.
