Life of Lily Clarke Case Told by Her Son
The son Rev Brayton C Case recalls his mother Lily Clarke Case born June 3 1857 Alden New York who became a missionary in Burma India arriving 26 March 1885 with Miss Whitehead and Miss Sheldon. She led Girls Schools at Kemmendine married Rev John E Case in 1886 then opened a station at Myingyan in 1887 and built a compound to deter bands of decoits. She started an Anglo Vernacular school on the veranda and after health breaks returned to Burma in 1894 reopening the school which grew into a self supporting high school of nearly 300 pupils under Burmese Christian management.

Nelson B Conant dies at 81 in Littleton after lengthy public service
Concord reports the death of Nelson B Conant of Littleton who died at his home after a long career in business and public office. Born in Acton in 1846 he moved to Littleton with his brother Albert F Conant, ran a mercantile business and later the Conant Machine Co with his son Wallace B Conant. An active public servant for about 50 years he held roles as selectman assessor library trustee and cemetery commissioner and served in the General Court in 1890.

An all day program at the Concord Rod and Gun Club marked the dedication of its new clubhouse. William J. Bulger Jr. chaired the dedication with flag-raising, a skeet event where Nelson A. Horne fired 23 birds, and a banquet for over 100. Prizes were awarded to Horne, Cook, Sweatt, and Taylor, with Hagerty taking a consolation trophy. The building features a 30 by 24 foot main hall, a kitchen, storeroom, and adjacent skeet grounds, all nearing completion.
