Mass Held for John McClary at West Concord Church

A high mass of requiem was celebrated at Our Lady Help of Christians in West Concord for John T. McClary aged 68 who died October 16 after a four month illness. Burial followed at Immaculate Conception cemetery Marlboro with attendance from Massachusetts Reformatory, Waltham Elks, and Foresters. He served 37 years as a correction officer and is survived by his wife Blanche McCarthy and three sisters in Vermont and Massachusetts.

Pratt Dies After Long Illness at 70 in Concord

Reuben Clifford Pratt 70, longtime Concord resident and Mason, died last Thursday at the Masonic Home in Shrewsbury after a long illness. Funeral services were held Sunday at Trinity Parish Church with Masonic and Eastern Star members serving as pallbearers and at Woollawn Cemetery Acton with temple officers officiating. Pratt, born January 28 1875 in Birds Landing California, lived in Concord for 34 years after a Boston machinist career. He is survived by a sister Mrs Herbert B. B59 of Hagamember and held memberships in the Episcopal Church Fraternity Sir Galahad Commandery Knights Templars Waltham Adoriam Royal Select Masters Hawthorne Chapter Order of Eastern Star Concord.

Willow Lodge Installation At Odd Fellows Hall

West Concord Officers were installed at Willow Lodge with Rebekah Lodge exercises at Odd Fellows Hall. Thelkafield, Florence, Evelina Arčen, Elizabeth Pickard, and Birdice Chaplin were named vice grand, financial secretary, recording secretary, and treasurer. Several officers were appointed. Next meeting set for Monday evening November 5 as the Rebekahs plan a busy winter season.

Concord Couple United in Marriage at St Bernard's

Catherine Rose Mansfield daughter of Mrs. Thomas Henry Mansfield and the late Mr. Mansfield married Frederick Fulling son of Mr. and Mrs. Lester P. Fulling of Nashua New Hampshire. The ceremony was at St Bernard's rectory with Mark P. Sullivan curate officiating. A reception followed at the Girl Scout house. The bride is a Concord High School Regis College graduate and lab technician. The groom recently returned from overseas service with the U S Army Signal Corps Ninth Air Force and is on leave.

Concord recalls WWII service and losses of Company H

In a retrospective, Concord honors its World War II veterans from Company H, later part of the Keeca Infantry, noting their campaigns in Guadalcanal Bougainville and the Savo Islands. Edmund Billings of Monument Street, a Navy reservist from Weston who moved to Concord, was killed August 9 1942 at Savo Islands.
