Mrs William Green of Westford Dies in Concord Auto Crash
Mrs William Green of Westford died in a Concord auto crash last Sunday evening on Bedford Street near Sleepy Hollow Hill. Her husband William Green was injured and their eight children survive. The driver said a flat tire on a wet road caused the car to skid into a brook, pinning Mrs Green beneath the rear of the vehicle. Their son William Kenneth Green was hospitalized.

Public schools reopened after an epidemic closure. Henry Hall, a student at a military school in Cornwall New York, visited at his sister Mrs Alice Carlisle. John McGregor became flagman at Hapgood Crossing on the 8 hour shift 2 to 10 pm. P H Willis works at the depot on the new time. Mr Peckham and family moved to Shirley trading farm for store and property formerly owned by Chas Bradford.

Geo. C. Durkee of Littleton passed away at his home on October 15 at age 92, one of the town's oldest residents. Funeral service was held at the home Friday with interment following in Littleton.

A 23 year old Concord Junction youth William OConnell was struck by a car while playing near a bridge with another boy. He died hours later after the incident near Commonwealth Avenue. The driver Winifred Chaplain stated the accident was unavoidable. Edward Loughlin corroborated. Funeral services were held at Help of Christians church with burial in St Bernards cemetery. The community mourns the popular boy.

Maynard Barn Fire Causes Property Loss and Injuries
A barn fire on Summer Street in Maynard caused extensive damage with an estimated loss between 1590 and 2000 dollars. Firefighters extinguished the blaze after 15 minutes, but Selectman Albert Smith was injured when the building caved in. Eleven horses and equipment were saved as guests at a nearby hotel awoke to the flames. The fire’s cause is unknown.
