Mrs Louise C Burgess formerly of Bedford dies suddenly at her home in Jacksonville Vermont at 430 pm Friday October 7. Funeral held at her son Harry L Charlies Bedford October 10. Interment in Shawsheen cemetery. Also commemorates the death of H O Atwood a Bedford resident of 11 years who died at his Commerce Street Boston oyster business at 430 pm. Funeral private at residence of Sherman G Rich in Bedford with Rev from Boston officiating. He was born 1846 in Truro Cape Cod and led the local oyster trade prior to forming H O Atwood & Co.
John H Eaton occupies his new home and Robert LaGouff while crossing tender during Hunt's absence. A M B church banquet at the center on Oct 27. The Parent Teacher Association plans meetings to improve home school communication and pupil conditions with a talk by Carolyn Putnam Webster on Food in the Home and School Lunches. A library committee will provide graded books for higher grades with teacher assistance.
West Acton reports several illnesses with James Jewett and Mrs. R. B. Moore both improving while Miss Florence McNiff was quite sick during the week. Local residents travel and visits include Mr. and Mrs. H. E. Holt, John Littlefield, Walter McClenathan, and Alfred Richardson.

Charles Miner visited his parents last week and Ira Penniman’s family moved away. Frank Macone of Boston spent several days with his parents. A Concord High cross country run over about three miles is planned with cups as prizes. Town residents attend a Lincoln dance tomorrow and Ming Ragna Petersen’s friends held a pleasant gathering. Fire alarm box 34 incident interrupted morning activities as a distance of about a mile was reported.
