Fire Destroys Home. Man Narrowly Survives
A house at 11 Deane Street owned by Stanley Zinsewez burned completely after 2.40 Tuesday morning. Zinsewez awakened suffocating by smoke, escaped through the front door, and alerted the fire department. Firefighter Tony Collins narrowly escaped injury by falling through a burned section, and Fire Chief Frank Parks sustained a severe cut. Estimated loss stands at 2500 dollars. Nearby, George R. Lee, 27, son of Barret's Mill Road residents, was murdered in Newark, New Jersey, while returning home to Concord. He leaves a wife and siblings. funeral planned at Help of Christians Church with high mass on Friday at 9:30.

Surveyors Begin Work After Official Ford Section Opening
Engineers and surveyors of the state highway department start surveying a new stretch of the Boston Post Road east of the Ford road junction. The 86 foot wide bituminous macadam roadway will run from the Ford highway to the Weston town line, shortening Marlboro to Boston travel.
