Concord writer Aver French Dies at 75

Boston native Aver French, longtime Concord resident and author, died at his home after a long illness. He was born November 28 in Boston and lived in Concord since 19. He taught English at Harvard, wrote histories of Concord and Ticonderoga, and was buried at Sleepy Hollow. The well attended funeral was held at the First Unitarian Church with Rev. Edward Perry Daniels officiating.

Tribute honors Major Dee in Concord church service

Committee Airing Plans For Election

The Republican committee held a meeting at the Town House last evening. Maurice McWalet was approved and set for October 16th as the final date for the upcoming state election on November 5th. The plan includes a large celebration announced at the next meeting. Secretary Williams reports.

Edith E Buck 88 dies after long illness in West Concord home

Edith E Buck aged 88 of 2 Pinckens Street died today in a West Concord rest home after a long illness. For over 50 years she ran a dry goods business with her sister Evelyn Buck, with whom she lived. She retired about five years ago. Funeral arrangements have not been completed.
