Hendy M.ane of Central Street marked his eightieth mile stone on September 28 with many congratulatory tokens. Seven siblings joined the gathering including Mrs Rachel Osborne Roxbury and Mrs Nellie L Wreckton et al, along with a family supper and birthday cakes. Lane born September 28 1850 in Rutland Mass lived in Concord 42 years and served 27 years at the Massachusetts Reformatory before retiring. He was a longtime member of the West Concordians church and active on its standing committee.
Miss Catherine L Hayes was again chosen president of Division 44 Ladies' Auxiliary Ancient Order of Hibernians at the annual meeting held in Monument Hall. Mrs Ellen M Keete was elected vice president and other officers include Miss Mary A Hill Recording Secretary and Elizabeth Phillips Financial Secretary.
Mrs Samuel Wilson 69 of 14 Pleasant street Maynard died last night after a long illness. Born in Maynard she was daughter of the late David and Mary Carmichael. Survived by daughter Mrs Burton Littlefield and son Alvah Dockerty, sister Mrs Joseph Henderson Ipswich, brother George Carmichael Parkview. Funeral Friday at 2 pm at home conducted by Dr Ernest L Mills with burial in Glenwood cemetery. She was active in the Methodist church and Mizpah Rebekah Lodge.
New voters were added to the registration list at a town meeting held Monday night by the selectmen. The gathering approved updating the rolls as part of the October 8 session, with eleven names newly added.
The Community School of Religious Education opens Tuesday evening October. Rev A B Reynolds of South Sudbury is the dean for the year. Rev Erwin L Shaver, a Boston Public Library storyteller, teaches Story Telling and Junior Methods. Miss Bessie L Doherty and Dr Shaver co teach the High School age course. Courses run ten weeks at Grace Congregational Church Framingham with two sessions per evening and credits or audit options.
In Middlesex County a jury sentenced William Brown 50 of Concord and Leonard Hennessy 23 and Leanehd Delaney 19 of Waltham to prison terms of 10 to 16 years and 10 years each for a brutal June assault on Miss Hagerty as she rode with them. Prosecutors labeled the act among the worst seen. defense urged rehabilitation. Hagerty survived after hospitalization. Brown led the assault with his co defendants aiding.
Maynard plans a benefit dance at Cooperative hall on Saturday Oct 11 to raise funds for police headquarters equipment. The move supports costs for lockers and upgrades while the new quarters in Gruber Bros block offer space for privacy and future cell installation as Chief John Connors leads prudent use of town funds.

Oct 8 report from Maynard states Assabet Market at 46 Main Street was broken into Sunday night. Burglars gained entry through a broken back door window and unlocked the door from inside after reaching the key. A few pennies were taken from the cash register, with a prior break-in noted about a month earlier by store clerks.
Merchants closed shops yesterday afternoon so storekeepers and clerks could attend the big parade of the local Legion convention. President Robert W. of the Ripeteet Beant Trade led the event, with merchants choosing to participate over staying open.
A large crowd gathered Friday evening in Concord to celebrate the new Congregational church. Ministers and local officials lauded the project, noting the building cost at 130000 with 56806 raised by pledges and 64242 already paid, as a banquet honored church youth and guests from nearby congregations.
Obituary notes the 96 year old Rev Dr Wa t am James Batt of West Concord a former Stoneham or dained minister and first chaplain at the Massachusetts Reformatory. Born in Fall River he earned a BD and honorary DD later writing on prison reform. He married Mary Davol and leaves six grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Charles Willard Allen founder of the Allen Chair Co. of Arlington dies at 46 Jason Street home in West Concord after a long career in Boston moving the business in 1906. He held positions with Savings Bank and Cooperative Bank boards and led 21 Associates trustees. Survived by wife Eunice E Allen a son W Stuart Allen Acton a daughter Doris I Allen a brother Theo and sister Grace. funeral Thursday at 2:30 PM at Unitarian church with Mt Pleasant cemetery interment.
