Concord High School cross country overwhelmed Methuen High on the Concord course last Tuesday morning with a perfect 16 to 47 score. Henry E. Silcox Dies in Boston at 80
Henry E. Silcox a former Maynard resident died in Boston in November of natural causes aged 80. He once worked as an overseer in the Burling room of the Assabet mill. The body was brought to Maynard for burial at Glenwood Cemetery on Saturday. Relatives and friends from Maynard attended the service.

Concord Woman Alice Keyes Dies After Long Illness
Mrs. Alice Reynolds Keyes wife of Judge Junge Prescott Keyes of Concord died at home on Common Street after a long illness. Born in Concord in 1857 she was active in wartime relief and local charities and served with the First Parish and D A R. Her obituary notes her family ties and public service, with private funeral at First Parish but interment at Sleepy Hollow.

Albert Smith 48 died of acute heart trouble after attending the Holy Cross and Boston College game at Braves Field in Boston. He was guest of Dr Edward Finherty and collapsed near game end. A longtime Maynard civic leader, he served on the Board of Selectmen and in the fire department. Funeral held at his home with Odd Fellows and town officials in attendance. Interment at Glenwood cemetery.

Man Charged With Assault On 13 Year Old Girl In Concord
Alphonse Jamail of Hayes Street was charged by the district court with assault and battery on a thirteen year old girl near Marlboro Road following a reported incident Saturday night. He was jailed for drunkenness and fined $15. A knife sharpened to a dagger point was found in his car en route to the station. The girl was struck in the stomach but uninjured. a recent spate of harassment reports on Parker Street is noted.

Mrs Elvira Hapgood Ames Dies in Vermont at 80
Mrs Elvira Hapgood Ames aged 80 years 10 months and 6 days died November 22 in Brattleboro Vermont. Born January 26 1847 in West Acton Massachusetts she was daughter of the late Benjamin Hapgood and sister of the late Hiram Hapgood. She married and lived in Hudson Michigan before moving to Vermont four years ago after her husband’s death. Interment was in West Acton Massachusetts. Survived by a sister Mrs Thurber and several nieces including Mrs Ida Harris of South Acton.
