Crossing Tender Thrown 200 Yards at Concord Junction
Robert Lester Sr. of Maynard was killed by a railroad train at a crossing in Concord Junction while working as a crossing tender. His body lay along the tracks about 200 yards from the station after the night patrol found it. Lester, born in London 64 years ago, had lived in Maynard since 1901 and leaves five daughters and two sons. Funeral plans with Masonic rites are expected Wednesday afternoon.
