The Methodist church in Maynard held Universal Bible Sunday and International Golden Rule Sunday with two sermons by Rev. Charles H B Carroll and the pastor. A 25-voice vested choir performed and a new children's choir debuted led by Mrs. Nellie Smith. Worcester Man Held on $2,000 Bond After Fatal Crash
Verner Niskanen of Maynard was held in $2,000 bonds awaiting Grand Jury action in Worcester’s Central District Court on a charge of operating a vehicle so as to endanger the public. The case stems from a fatal August crash on Highland Street that killed 62 year old Mrs Lyman R Holmes as Niskanen allegedly sped and swerved to pass a vehicle on a hill.

Every Friend Canvass Held at West Concord Union Church
The West Concord Union church held its annual Every Friend Canvass with Reverend Alfred Wheeler Stone delivering The Spirit of Christmas Giving. Deacon Herbert C. Shepard led the canvass with assistors. about four hundred families contributed. A post canvass service featured remarks by Stone Treasurer Judkins and others, with a quartet performance. Mr and Mrs Mahan moved to 96 Commonwealth Avenue.
Funeral for Mrs. Etta Robinson at Home for the Aged
The funeral for Mrs. Etta Robinson 69 was held Saturday at 2 PM at the Home for the Aged 32 Walden street where she resided. Dr Gail Cleland of the Trinitarian Congregational Churches conducted the service. Burial followed in Sleepy Hollow Cemetery. Mrs. Robinson was born in Canada and is survived by two sisters Mrs Allen Smith of Franconia New Hampshire and Mrs Scribner of South Lancaster.
