Funeral for Leif Ostberg Held at Emerson Hospital

The funeral for Leif Ostberg was held Sunday afternoon at Emerson Hospital with a brief service. Born in Norway on September 2, he came to the town and lived at 88 Commonwealth Avenue. Survived by three brothers Paul John Henry and Olga, all residents of the town, he attended MIT evenings classes and received military honors at the service. Floral tributes testified to the town’s affection as mourners gathered.

Breakin at J A MacPherson Store In Maynard

Thieves broke into the J A MacPherson store on Main Street between Saturday night and Monday morning. A rifle ammunition jackknives and flashlights were stolen. Entry was gained through a rear bulkhead and local police are investigating. A union Thanksgiving service will be held at the Universalist church on Wednesday November 23 at 7 30 PM.

Margaret Alice O’Brien Weds James J. O’Donnell in Maynard Mass

Miss Margaret Alice O’Brien daughter of Mr and Mrs Daniel O’Brien and James J O’Donnell son of Mrs Margaret O’Donnell were married Monday morning at St Bridget’s church Maynard. The ceremony was by Rev Edward F Crowley with Miss Marie DePatie as bridesmaid and Thomas F O’Donnell as best man. The couple’s reception followed at the bride’s home attended by relatives from Maynard Southboro Worcester and Boston. The bride a Maynard High School graduate works for Middlesex Mutual and is known in local drama. the groom works for Texas Oil Co and is a member of the C. O. C.

Death of Anton Zdanowicz in Maynard

Anton Zdanowicz aged 32 died at his Deane street home after a long illness. He is survived by his wife and two children. Funeral services were held at his residence with burial in St. Bridget's Cemetery. This was Maynard's first death since September 26.
