Mrs Owen, born in Barnstable England, came to the United States as a young woman.
The Maynard H S class of 1928 plans its first reunion and banquet at Stow County Club on Thanksgiving night. Reservations must be made at once with Mrs Hulda Nelson 32 Roosevelt street. Officers in 1928 were George Tucker president Lawrence Lever vice president Hulda Nelson secretary and Harold Nordberg treasurer. The class numbered forty three graduates.
The town clerk records marriage intentions for Amelia Pasarkarnis of 4 Shirley and John Walter Derkas of 7 Pleasant street. They plan to be married on Thanksgiving Day.
Concord Hawthorne Chapter Order of the Eastern Star hosted a supper and program at Masonic Temple for Past Matrons and Patrons. Mrs Beulah Blair declined further service as president. Warren Goddard elected president for the new year. A memorial for Benjamin Derby was observed.
Licenses for intoxicating liquor sale expire December 31 this year. Several current licensees have filed applications with the Board of Selectmen, which will grant licenses for the next year.

Patrolman James Finan of the Concord Police picked up Joseph Flint aged 15 near the milldam on Sunday. Flint had escaped from the Fernald School in Waltham and was held until school authorities arrived to take custody.
Christopher Mullen of River Street faced assault and battery charges against Sarl V. Aldrich, technical advisor of the PRA administration. In Middlesex Superior Court Cambridge he was fined $20 after appealing a 69 day sentence from the local court.

A fire swept the Mead Block causing smoke damage to stores on the first floor and apartments above after a furnace fire ignited inflammable materials placed over a heater. Firemen arrived quickly and the prompt alarm likely prevented greater damage. Years ago the site saw one of the town’s worst blazes.

Maynard Water department headquarters relocate to the new town building on Main Street after November 24. The Selectmen's office and tax collector's office are also expected to move to the town office building by week’s end.

Jane A Courtney widow of Abraham Courtney died suddenly at 28 Nason Street Maynard on Tuesday morning at age 89. Born in Preston England she lived in Maynard 38 years. She is survived by two sons John and Ram and Walter Courtney of Montclair NJ a great granddaughter and a funeral will be held Tuesday at 10 at her son Charles Courtney 12 Brooks Street conducted by Rev Mathew A Vance with burial at Hill Cemetery Woonsocket.
South Sudbury honored Mr and Mrs Ralph Richardson celebrating their 65th wedding anniversary today now living in Waltham. They were born and educated in Sudbury and lived there until about 15 years ago. Friends and relatives send best wishes.
Maynard Atty John Driscoll and Francis Cleary will occupy the Selectmen rooms in Crégion's block now vacated by town officials. Driscoll, a Boston attorney, is a Northeastern Law graduate with local ties. Cleary, known in insurance, will move his business to the new location.

Mr. and Mrs. John Maynerd observed their 22nd wedding anniversary with ten friends at their home. The event included the arrival of their son John Jr. and related family moves during the celebration.
