At a special town meeting Sudbury members approved 4300 from the overlay reserve fund for three appropriations. A 3500 motor truck with snow plow was approved with spending left to the selectmen and highway surveyor. 600 for welfare relief. and 300 as the town’s share for Federal Educational Recovery Administration projects. Moderator John C. Hall presided. selectmen Harvey N. Fairbank Audrey W. Boerden and L. Roy Hawes were present and supported the measures.
In the Fifth Middlesex senatorial district recount Sen. Moyse held a 138 vote plurality over Gerard Cahill. Original tallies had Moyse leading by 97, with incomplete figures listed for towns Concord Maynard Sudbury Watertown and others. Final figures show Moyse securing the final margin across the district.
R D Willard of 5 Fielding Street was reelected president of the Concord Cooperative Bank at a Wednesday evening meeting. John J Connorton named vice president with Benjamin Moody treasurer and William A Rodday assistant treasurer. Directors for three years include Raymond Wheeler Burleigh Pratt Philip Smith Wisner Park and John Mutty. Security committee comprises William Rouday Raymond Wheeler and Robert Donaldson. Finance committee includes Wallace Conant Eliot Howard and Walter How.
A special committee appointed by the Selectmen to study electric light rates and the advisability of a municipal light plant organized during the week. Augustus Morse elected chairman with AWN Rivers as secretary. Members include Frank Sheridan Dennis White Alton Sims John J Donohue and John H Murray. Morse is superintendent of the Assabet mill electrical department and a town power expert.
Maynard Howard Weaving serves as president of the Epworth League of the Methodist Church, guiding local youth outreach and church activities during the period.
West Acton Nov 28 Mr and Mrs James Kinsley are toasted for their golden anniversary. Married at St Bernard's Concord on Thanksgiving Day 1884 by Rev Michael McCall they are noted as active community citizens and lifelong Acton residents.
W Butler of West Acton, age 26, was found dead in his car in Boxboro Monday night. Highway workers reported the habit of sleeping in the vehicle with the engine running to stay warm. Death ruled accidental poisoning by carbon monoxide. He was unmarried, survived by his mother Mrs Mary Butler and three brothers and three sisters.
The annual St Bernard's parish reunion will be held this evening in Monument Hall directed by Rev William H Finnick and Rev John Sears. Guest speaker William H O’Brien, formerly with the Congregational group, is scheduled to attend.

More than 200 Maynard families will receive Thanksgiving assistance from ERA administrator Don Lent and Rev. Matthew A. Vance. A payroll totaling 1775 dollars was distributed today to help local residents in need.
Maynard Almond L. Davis age 47 of Lewis Street died of heart trouble Friday morning after reporting for work at the Asaabet mill. He was a World War veteran survived by wife and daughter. Burial with military honors in Farmington, Maine, conducted by the Legion post.
Funeral services for Mrs Martha G Haley were held Thursday at the Methogene church in Center Street. The edifice was filled with relatives and friends. The Rev George H Clarke conducted the service with organ accompaniment. Burial followed in Mount Pleasant Cemetery as the Rebekahs performed their ritual. Mrs Haley was a Past Grand Master in the order.
