Concord and Dexter announce the engagement of Miss Mary Cheever Harlow to John Achelis U S Army son of Mrs John Fritz Achelis of Umson. Harlow attended thief school and debuted in 1939 1940. Achelis is Taft School educated and a former Squadron A 101st Cavalry member recently returned from 19 months overseas in Washington DC.

Lt Gov Robert Devlin presided as Lois H Stowe and 91 other graduates received degrees at Mount Union College in Southeffie. The ceremony honored the class on campus, with addresses and conferrals marking the milestone for each recipient.
Grey shutout Beale Emmons 4-0, allowing eight hits while striking out none. Beale Emmons and Bill Stone each produced one run as did Dave Key.
