Maynard road project faces $5000 cap for Powder Mill Rd
Maynard town officials report state and county grants now total 15 000 for Powder Mill Road repair and improvements leaving only 5 000 available for the project The plan envisaged 24 000 in total but only part may be completed this year with the rest to be funded by future allocations The work includes bridge approach grading Main Street and Walnut Street work while Walnut Street bridge delays may push traffic reopening to mid August The Memorial Day dedication of the Memorial Bridge is postponed until bridges are completed and surroundings cleared and Armistice Day may host dedication ceremonies by the Legion and patriotic groups

Mrs James Boulden Dies After Illness at Home
Mrs James Boulden died at her home 16 Roosevelt Street Thursday evening after a long illness. Survived by her husband and six children. Funeral services were held Saturday at St. Bridget's Church with Mass of Requiem by Rev. Edward McLaughlin. Bearers included William Johnson Arthur Johnson Harlow Green George Hack John Walsh and John Carey. Burial followed in St. Bridget's Cemetery.

Annursnac Grange hosted a Friday Children’s Night with members’ children as guests. Mrs Mary B Laws presented an instructive talk on native birds accompanied by bird music selections, pleasing the young attendees.
