Hawthorne OES Food Sale Planned at Adam and Bridge

On Friday at 3 o clock Hawthorne Chapter OES will hold a food sale at Adams and Bridges store. Home made cakes pies doughnuts and other delicacies will be on sale. Thomas Reilly has joined R J Rodday Co as clerk at the Commonwealth avenue store. Mr and Mrs P H Lanpher and son Robert of Somerville were guests Sunday of Mrs Thomas Connell.

Deaths mark fifth anniversary of son’s passing

John Hugh Hughes Sr died on Sunday May 13 in Worcester. He had long lived in the town with his son John Hughes of Main Street. His death occurred on the fifth anniversary of his son's death, a coincidence noted by locals.

Funeral for Rev. George Fiskiper in Concord

The late Rev. George Fiskiper of Maple Street dies at 87. Funeral services were held at the First Parish church last Saturday at 2 PM with Rev. Loren B. MacDonald officiating and Rev. Royden C. Leonard assisting.

Maynard Memorial Day Observance Led by Post A L

Frank J. DeMars post A L will organize the Memorial Day events with Spanish American World War and Civil War veterans, school children, and scouts. Mrs A L Morse of Maynard was chosen president of Old Concord Chapter D A R at the annual meeting held at the Chapter House in Concord. Concord Do DAR Annual Meeting Delivers Insights and Plans

Old Concord Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution held their annual meeting at the Chapter House. Officers for the coming year were elected including Regent Mary D. E. Morse and Vice Regent Jennie W. Fowle. Mrs. George R. Blinn reported on the Continental Congress. An automobile outing and luncheon at Townsend Tavern are planned for June 14 with hosting by Mrs. Watson, Mrs. Peckham, Miss Bunker, and Miss Towle.

Baldwin Wins Middlesex Cup Tournament

At the Concord Country Club last Saturday David A. Baldwin won 1 up over 16 contestants to claim the Middlesex cup in a three quarters handicap event. Herbert B. Hosmer and N Ellis Richardson won net prizes, five down, with other notable results listed.

Corinthian lodge to exemplify order work in Lowell

A. F. and A. M. officers of Corinthian lodge will participate in the exemplification of the Order’s work. The event is set for Saturday May 26 at 2 PM at the Masonic Temple in Lowell.
