Two Brush Fires Reported Near Main Street and White Pond
On Thursday April 27 the brush fire wagon responded to two brush fires. The first burned five or six acres near Sydney Vooiage off Main Street and the second was in the White Pond region. Chief Tuttle deemed the first fire safe to leave after about two hours.

Chief Binks and Deputy Connors led a liquor raid Saturday night visiting five places. At A Stemplesky on Walnut street police seized 70 gallons of moonshine and liquor samples for chemist analysis.
