Concord Council of the Knights of Columbus held at Monument Hall with Grand Knight Omas J. Parke Jr presiding Plans announced for the spring season and another degree session planned The next meeting is set for Tuesday evening April 2 at 8 o clock
Maynard Grange held a regular meeting at Grange hall with a St Patrick’s Day themed program. Hazel Bumpus led a paper on Does a Garden Pay which provided data on garden value.
Mrs John J. Downey of Woodbury Lane remains in Emerson hospital after an operation last Thursday. Miss Barbara Reed returns home from Wheelock college for a ten day spring vacation. Mrs Arthur Fraser is elected chairwoman of the school committee at a recent organization meeting. The Rebekahs plan a degree event on April 3 with a supper at the West Acton Baptist church. Mr Walter B Stevens and family attended a wedding in New York. The Adoms Woman's Club hosted a bridge party March 21 at Acton Center. Concord Rotary and Hartwell Farm gatherings drew large turnouts this week.
The Acton Massachusetts Board of Health invites bids for one year of garbage collection and disposal across the town starting May 1 1946. Bids must be received by secretary L H Cram by 5 pm April 9 1946 with $100 certified check. successful bidder must sign contract within ten days. The board may reject all bids.
Notice states an application for a duplicate bank book to replace Book No. 10372 lost by an account holder. Maynard Trust Co. of Maynard Massachusetts issues the notice with dates March 21 to April 4.

A libel for divorce has been filed by Elizabeth Frank against William Irving Frank in the Cambridge probate court. The petition cites cruel and abusive treatment and requests alimony. A written appearance is required within days from May 1 1946. Witness John Leghie Usquire, First Judge, Saint year 1946.
