Concord Night Classes Highlight Immigrant Achievement
In Concord, the Americanization and evening classes at the high school auditorium celebrated a successful season. Dozens of immigrants from Gian, Canadian, Irish, Chinese, and French backgrounds earned certificates, with one student aged 59 completing his first paper and Wong Hoong Kong, age 15, joining from China. Awards honored perfect attendance and state completion certificates, while a flag and donated books recognized new citizens. Edward H. James hosted a Good Will Day party for pupils and teachers at his Lexington road home, a long-standing social highlight of the school year.
