Maynard residents attend the Boston Auto Show and socialize at homes on Maple and Pine streets. A two weeks old infant died. Emmanual Taylor begins portable bath business after a long illness. Military service notes include promotions at Camp Devens and transfers to Ft Prebble, with Loyal Assabet lodge aiding war thrift stamps.
Concord is well represented at this year’s Boston auto show. Macone Bros. sold a 1918 Maxwell touring car to Frederick W. Eaton and Harold Tompkins was seen in a Maxwell bought from Macone Bros. The public schools reopened Monday after a week’s break and residents plan a talk on Facts From the Front for War Work funds.
Mrs. Mary A. Conant of Stow died Friday at her daughter's home after a short illness following surgery in Deaconess hospital. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon in Stow. She is survived by her son Charles and daughter Mrs. Arthur Jones.
Company cooks served a tempting oyster stew supper at Friday night’s meeting. Several officers from GSamp Devens attended. Berkley Wheeler shared some of his experiences while overseas.
Mrs Avigail Prescott Smith widow of the late Francis Smith died in Lincoln at age 96. Burial was held Sunday after her death occurred last Thursday.
Mrs. Martha Feeley of Franklin visited her sister Mrs. John Castle in Concord Junction over the weekend. Napoleon Couture of Marlboro, formerly of the town, called on friends Sunday. Mrs. EB Conery visits daughter Mrs. E J Alley in Billerica. Mrs. Charles Sylvester stayed with Boston relatives. Mrs. Fred Greene and children returned from Beverly and Salem. Mrs. A J Hicks and son Hart returned from Winthrop Highlands. Mrs. Edward Loughlin hosted her sister Miss Ruth Sweeney of Dorchester. May Reillay visited friends in Roxbury and saw Pilate's Daughter. Mr. and Mrs. Alan Kennedy and Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Pringle drove to Boston for the auto show. Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Joslin will reside in Concord with Joslin parents on Lexington Road.

Miss Elizabeth Tygart concluded her services at Huyler’s. Lenten services will be held at St Michael’s church. Mrs Benjamin Freeman concluded her services with Blodgett Ordway and Webber in Kingston Street Boston. Rev Dr Gaston spoke on A Nation’s True Greatness at Congregational church. The Church of Christ choir met at Mr and Mrs George Thompson’s home. A large crowd attended the Congregational church supper and entertainment. Private Hugh I Hunt has been severely wounded in France. Birthday parties honored Miss Barbara Lydiard and Miss Dorig Thompson. Volunteers Mary Parker and Mrs Edward Pickman will aid Back Bay W C A fund drive.
Large crowd from the town attended a Tuesday evening entertainment in the town hall. Hastings Russell the humorist and ventriloquist kept the audience in laughter throughout the program. The show proved a surprise and delight to all who attended.
Victor Rithiluma recently enlisted in the Naval Reserves. Margaret McCormack remains homebound with a severe cold on Sudbury Street. Bradford Parker and Edmund Hooper attended the Boston Auto Show Thursday. Sergt. Frank Parks, bayonet instructor at Camp Devens, was home for the weekend. Agnes Campbell of Newton visited the Kaler family on Sudbury Street. Mr. and Mrs. Albert Carney of Franklin were guests of Mrs. Duggan on Sudbury Street. Rev. Frederick Reeves of Weston will exchange pulpits with Rev. A. B. Papineau of St George's Church this Sunday. Elizabeth Sullivan of Spring Lane was called to Rockville Connecticut due to illness of her mother. The spring opening of millinery at Fullenton hat shop drew record crowds. Mrs. Thomas McNalley of Medway visited her parents on Dartmouth Street. A. T. Haynes and daughter Mrs. Clarence Bodfish of Pittsfield visited their daughter Mrs. Charles Wilcox in Nashua New Hampshire. The overseers of the poor organized for the year at a meeting. Thomas Wright elected chairman, James Mullin secretary, William Scully treasurer. George Binns, field clerk at the general headquarters in France, plans a short vacation in Paris later this month. He recently met Private Harry Croft of Maynard, in France with the 101st Regiment.
