Wm H Millington enrolling agent of the U S Shipyard volunteers enrolled 87 Maynard volunteers and sent three to Fore River yards at Quincy to begin work. William Hietanen John Tervo and William Keto were the men sent and they started Monday morning. The apointments ent has been made to assist in food production and surveys of acreage to be used for food in Maynard this year begin Monday with pupil help and questionnaires will be sent to farmers and gardeners for data.

Sudbury Charies Hunt Well Known Here Funeral Held
Charles S. Hunt died Wednesday February 20 at South Sudbury after years of poor health. He served as gate tender for over 20 years and was the first station agent at Sudbury Centre, later working at Framingham Fitchburg and back to South Sudbury. He leaves a wife a daughter two sisters and a brother. a longtime Congregationalist and Mason of 40 years. Funeral Sunday afternoon from his home conducted by Masons and Rev George H Clarke with many floral tributes and a large delegation present.

Aged Couple Mr and Mrs Duvey Noted as Town’s Elders
One of the oldest couples in town, Mr and Mrs John Duvey, celebrated Mrs Duvey’s 80th birthday and Mr Duvey’s 87th birthday weeks apart. He is lame from rheumatism yet appears much younger. The town records few other couples as aged as them. Measles cases are declining and Mrs Chester Preey hosted her mother last week.
