A March meeting of the Maynard Assembly Rainbow Girls was held at the Masonic Hall with many members and guests in costumes. Miss Ethel of Maynard and Miss Rubins of Concord won prizes for the comical outfits. Doris Dawson announced a county meeting in March and L D Wilson organized the event at the hall. Refreshments were served by Mrs Kingman and the girls.

Boston Woman Injured by Falling Theatre Marquee
Miss Florence Boothroyd of Tremont Street Boston was struck by a marquee fragment as she walked on Washington street after lunch. She received six stitches for a head cut and suffered cuts on her arms and body. She left Haymaker Relief hospital and is recovering at home.

Preaching Call Nears North Chelmsford Church
Rev Albert B Reynolds of Memorial church South Sudbury was asked to fill the pulpit at North Chelmsford Congregational church on Sunday as a step toward a future call. With Rev Clement Hahn leaving for Saco Maine, Reynolds consented to preach to maintain close ties, joining a 3500 member church with a 200 child school and a $2500 salary. Joseph Reid of Maynard pleaded not guilty before Judge Sisk in Middlesex Superior Court East Cambridge on March 6 to breaking and entering Michael Piecevicz’s store and stealing cigarettes cane and cookies on November 17. Deaths of World War veteran in Maynard
A World War II veteran died at his home on Morida Road after long illness. Alexander Bygot, 36, served in France with the infantry and was gassed. He is survived by his wife and brother John Bygot. Funeral with full military honors was held Tuesday at Russian Annunciation Church, Prospect Street, with Legion members and firing squad present. Burial followed at Glenwood Cemetery.

George Whitney aged 77, a former South Acton resident, died at Memorial Hospital Nashua New Hampshire after a period of double pneumonia. He worked 30 years for the Boston and Maine railroad and is survived by his sister Mrs. Elizabeth Jones and niece Miss Elizabeth Bumpus, both of South Acton.
