In Concord Massachusetts Edward P. Chase and Police Chief Kelley urge a new modern police and fire station. Deputy Fire Chief Harry Patterson warns the current building is outmoded and not fireproof, housing equipment worth 90000 dollars.
Concord plans a March 7 town election with four contests and the town manager issue in play for the third time. Polls run 7 30 a m to 8 p m with precinct polling place changes at Hunt Gym to State Armory Precinct 1 Harvey Wheeler School Precinct 2 and Veterans Building Walden Street for Precinct 3. Major races include assessor between John B Finigan and Benjamin F Clark and school committee with four candidates led by Eleanor Spinney seeking re election. A cemetery seat features Warner H Eldridge as a sticker candidate amid caucus contenders.

Concord Council K of C members will attend 7 o clock mass at Our Lady Help of Christians Church West Concord. After mass they will go to Monument Hall for an 8 30 breakfast prepared by Leo White of South Acteen with a guest speaker to be announced according to Grand Knight John J. Sheehan.
Concord patrolman Dominic Pagano reports first robin of the season in town near his Bedford Street home the day after Washington's Birthday.
At a meeting called by the Chamber of Commerce and led by Chairman W. Graydon Smith, Concord residents voted 15 to 5 to pay for parking expansions through higher assessments. The plan, linked to the Bates Committee 1947 report, envisions parking behind Paint Pot, Vanderhoof's, Middlesex Institution for Savings, Mutty and Tirrell's, and the Post Office with future connections to Veterans Building land.
