Concord announces the engagement of Nina Donato daughter of Mr and Mrs Joseph Donato to Warren L Larrabee son of Mr and Mrs Fuller B Larrabee of Bucks Harbor Maine. Nina attended Concord schools and Pierce Secretarial School in Boston and works for the District Court Probation Office. Warren attended Beverly schools and Northeastern University earning a B S in Mechanical Engineering. He is employed by E I Du Pont De Nemours Company in Niagara Falls NY. A spring wedding is planned.
Concord Emblem Club No. 206 held a card party at the Elks Hall with door prize to Mrs. Angus Hanson and special prize to Mrs. Annie E. Wood Whist winners were Mrs. F. Tibbets first Mrs. Muriel Hollenkamp second Mrs. Sophie Trakinas and Mrs. Muriel Nickerson. Canasta prizes went to Mrs. Gene Oakman first and Mrs. Ethel Cook second. Lincoln club notes thanks to attendees and helpers. March date to be announced.
Clark McCartney of Fresno California spoke at Concord Lions Club about his bicycle journey through 11 European countries. Past President Rothwell N MacRae and President Robert B Lortz conducted the meeting. April glee club concert plans were announced.

Max G. Fultz of Walden Street, a fruit and vegetable specialist with the Middlesex County Extension Service, served as guest speaker on a Boston radio station Saturday morning.
Concord Woman's Club announces a meeting Monday March 14 at 245 PM in the Girl Scout House. President Mrs E Clifford Goodspeed will preside and guest speaker Mrs Edward B Thomas will present colored slides of England Switzerland and France. Tea hostess Mrs Frederick C Klinck. Guests include Mrs Earl R Weidner and other district officers.
Benjamin F. Clark defeats John B. Finigan for assessor by 194 votes. Clark 1415 to Finigan 1221 with precinct results showing Clark leading in multiple wards and percent splits noted as 2.4 percent and various figures across locations. The outcome confirms Clark as the new assessor.
The recreation commission lists this week’s showings with Jack Carson in The Local Humor Man and cartoons. Screenings are Friday at 3 30 in the Harvey Wheeler School Auditorium and Saturday at 2 in the high school cafeteria. All young sters invited.
In Concord the town election results show the selectman-town manager plan approved on its third try by 144 votes with 1386 in favor to 1242 against and 2720 of 5291 voters casting ballots. Finigan loses assessor race to Clark 1415 to 1221 as Jones retires after 33 years.
