Sea Scout Mohawk Ship 33 gathered outdoors at 44 Central Street West Concord for its last meeting of the season. A Board of Review awarded Ordinary ranks to Richard Hewitt John LaBounty and Richard Damon. Associates were added for Sea Scouts David Caldwell Henry Damon Harold Fairbanks Calvin Hamilton Joseph Mazzeo Robert O Neil.
The Red Cross and Concord instructors announce summer swimming courses at Walden Pond starting June 21 and July 17. Junior and intermediate classes run Fridays from 9 to 11 AM under the direction of Mrs. C. D. Wil and Mr. Rohan. The program stresses afloat safety and basic survival skills for future service members.
The Concord Woman's Corps led by Captain Dorothy Macone was inspected Tuesday at the Veterans' Building. A map symbols class and camouflage lesson followed. Twelve members later left for regional maneuvers in Methuen over June 12 and 13 with army style meals and field duties.

Mr and Mrs Ernest BM r of 194 Commonwealth Avenue celebrated their 52nd wedding anniversary last Saturday. They were married at Concord on June 12, 1891 and have lived in Concord since. He is 79 years old and they remain in good health.
The Concord Bute-Man YD Veterans Association held its annual installation at the state armory on June 8. Patrolman William L. McCarthy was elected commander, with George E. Tobin as gasket commander Rex Morgan vice commander Maj. Michael J. Dee West as secretary and J O Grady as sergeant at arms. Other officers include Frederick B. Moreau retiring commander Joseph M. Dee Charles Rocks and a trustee. Austin Appleby Boston past national commander installed officers and spoke on the national convention in Boston June 26.
Massachusetts officials announce six day air raid drill beginning Monday with state wide noon signals. Needham urges residents to learn meanings of the four signals including first alarm for planes, second alarm for bombing, third alarm for possible return, and all clear.
Miss Alice Hitchcock daughter of Dr and Mrs J H Sand won a coveted medal for high citizenship at Oak Grove School for Girls commencement exercises. She earned the courtesy bar and school emblem, participated in basketball tennis and riding club, sang in the choir and served in School Service Volunteer activities.
Local Grand Knight officers elected last year will be installed in September. Four members, including Past Grand Knight Martin J. Diskin and Financial Secretary A. McKenna, hosted the recent meeting under District Deputy Robert J. Muldoon. A planned trip to Boston and new headquarters were discussed for the coming year.
A Thursday evening ceremony at the state armory will award a large class and present special honors to Harold Compkins chairing the school committee and Willard H. Smith principal. Three members are in service and others are expected to be inducted soon.

Initiation of candidates occurred at 8 with Mrs Forbes and Edwinson assisting. Pauline P. Garrier of Brookline Chapter viewed the ceremony as worthy grand matron. The soloist was Mrs Caroline Derby.
Concord Lions Club elected Concord-G Sherman Blair to the presidency at their annual meeting held Tuesday evening after supper at the Mill Dam tea room. Blair succeeds Rothwell N. MacRae and new officers include F Crosby and Alexander R. Metout with Dr Boynton in line for first vice president. The club plans Cub Scouts sponsorship and a blood bank drive in Boston.
