At the Concord state archoryo graduation ceremony Harold Tomp une presided as seniors received diplomas. 18 men are in the armed forces and mothers collected diplomas for absent graduates. Rev. George F. Everard gave the invocation. Dr. James Gordon Gilkey spoke on What Lies Behind Achievement. Mary Louise Hills and Ralph Kenneth Peterson earned medals. The program ended with national anthem and benediction.

Concord Grange held a whist party at Mrs Jeannette S Stensby home on Bedford Street last Friday evening. Winners included Mrs Dorothy Scherer Mrs Bertha Johnson Miss Nellie O Connor Mrs Elizabeth Adams Mrs Annie Mara Mrs Esther Birch Miss Sylvia Neal and Miss O Connor the special prize. A June Gardens talk by Miss Harrison of the Extension Service was noted at the Elks hall meeting. Next Wednesday June 30 Concord Grange will host Middlesex Central Pomona at Elks upper hall with refreshments to follow.

Playgrounds Opened in Concord with Wide Enrollment

Dee Riney Concord Joseph 19 Bedford Street lifelong town resident marked his 75th birthday on Tuesday June 22. An undertaker and farmer with sons James and Francis in business, he engages in many local groups including the Concord Rotary Club Elks Knights of Columbus and St Bernard's Holy Name Society. He previously served as sealer of weights and measures and remains burial agent.

Private first class G. D ital Ia serves in a medical regiment on a distant front. When communications strain stretched supply lines he improvised drug scales from wood, wire, and plasma tin bottoms. He balanced them and used six grain aspirin tablets as weights for measurement.
