Acton Universalist Chapter Holds Ladies Night Meeting

Acton chapter of Universalist Comrades held a regular meeting and ladies night in the vestry of the First Universalist church on Tuesday evening June 13 Col C H French delivered an illustrated lecture on India Members could bring guests Ref refreshments were served The outdoor pool at Law's Brook in March last week drew a large crowd as hot weather continued The improvement association plans to dredge the pool when water recedes People are warned not to throw cans glass or rubbish into the brook Mrs Grace Vorster underwent an operation at the Huntington avenue Radium hospital in Boston and is hoped to return home soon Barker and Co are installing a new roof on their vinegar factory on Acton street A lawn party on the common was postponed by threatening weather but a dance in the town hall drew a record crowd.

Nancy Wamboldt Onberg obituary notes long service

Nancy Wamboldt Onberg of Westfield Nova Scotia born January 20 1883 died June 5 at Massachusetts General Hospital Boston. She moved to New Bedford in 1918 and West Acton in 1919 where she served as a supportive neighbor and church worker with the Red Cross and WCTU. Funeral services were held June 6 at her niece's home with Rev A B Wheeler and Miss Myrtle Smith.

Concord Junction Union Church Holds Schedule of Events

The Concord Junction Union Church plans a morning baptismal service for members and a 5 o clock annual church school promotion. The evening service is canceled, with a midweek meeting Tuesday at 7 30. A lawn party, run by the Ladies Union, is set for Thursday June 22 on church grounds.

Maynard Police Arrest Two Strangers After Gunpoint Stand

Maynard police arrested two strangers after a gunpoint incident Saturday night around 10 PM. Frank Ross, said to be from New York, and another man with aliases including Black and Dino Hunkanoen, claimed to be Quincey at home. The men were taken into custody as crowds left nearby theatres.
