Concord Lodge Hosts Annual Asparagus Supper Event
Concord, Juné 11 Over one hundred fifty from seventy lodges in Massachusetts Maine Connecticut Illinois Michigan Vermont Rhode Island and Scotland gathered Monday evening for the annual asparagus supper. Mrs Duncan G Chapman led the event arranging crafts and a Scottish program with Gladya Graham Mary MacAuley and George B Smith performing. The War Master Alexander R MacLadd welcomed guests including Parker of Waltham George Gondos and Alexander Campbell. Acacia Club received a silver pitcher and tray from St Trust Co. The gathering was described as the largest and most enjoyable in lodge history.

Judge Howard Wilecn was sworn in as standing justice of the district court in Concord by Governor Allen at the state house. Eleanor Mace 29 of Concord earned second place in the Massachusetts Fourth Annual shorthand and typewriting contest at Worcester’s Commercial High School. 165 contenders from 36 schools competed. Mace, in Class B for up to two years of shorthand study, achieved 80 wpm for five minutes with only two errors in 25 minutes. Maynard Council K of C elects officers at last night’s meeting with John Hannon as grand knight and other officers named.

Maynard Man M meets Death in Falmouth Accident
Edward Nyman aged 35 of Fairfield street was killed in an automobile crash at Coomansset Four Corners Falmouth yesterday. He worked as a carpenter for Arthur Peterson and rode with driver Sterling Perry aboard a pickup that collided with Charles L. Gifford’s beach wagon. The wagon veered over an embankment. Perry and William Linnell were detained. Two Mashpee women and Ada Jones were treated at Hyannis hospital.
