Court awards 3600 in fatality case

In Worcester on June 3 a Superior court judgment settled for 3600 to Rose Anna Lanois administratrix of Frank L Labossiere from Marlboro. Labossiere died after being struck by Joseph H Pelot s car on a Marlboro highway March 91 1928. Clarence E Tupper and John W Cronin held roles for state and defense respectively.

Mrs Rogers M D at Maynard Memorial Day Visit

Congressman Edith Nourse Rogers spent Memorial Day in her district attending services in Lowell and at Maynard where she attended the dedication of the permanent World War Memorial. She had assisted ten years earlier with the temporary tablet and pressed her measure to provide blue uniforms and black shoes reminiscent of prewar Army dress.

Harold R. Newcomb of Hampden County Savings Bank, an orchestra leader and radio broadcaster, was indicted on 161 counts, the largest number in Hampden County history. He pleaded not guilty.

Married at St. Marys Today Marlboro Couple Wed

Marlboro Miss Marie Blanche Demers wed Anthony J. Boisse in St. Marys Church at 9 this morning. Rev. J L M Levesque officiated with fathers as witnesses. The bride, daughter of Mr and Mrs Adonia Demers, wore white satin with orange blossom accents. The reception followed at the bride’s home and guests came from Sanford Nashua Boston Leominster and Willemansett among others. The couple plans a wedding journey and will reside on Lakeside Avenue. Boisse, a World War veteran, is chief engineer at the Hotel Vendome Boston and belongs to Marlboro Lodge 999 Elks.

The Marlboro Hudson Pigeon Club plans its final race of the season next Saturday sending four or five lofts of birds to Ashtabula Ohio for a 500 mile run. Philip DiRoco of Marlboro won the prior Rochester New York 300 mile event with a speed of 1474.67 yards per minute.
