DeRuzzo drove in three runs as West Concord slugged eight hits and moved to 3-1 in their last four league contests. Muscato and Condon contributed stolen bases, and Torrey took the loss for Groton with four innings pitched.
Johnny Kelley of West Acton Concord wins the time prize in a five mile road race at Braintree last Friday finishing from scratch in 29 minutes 26 seconds. Royce Sawyer of NYMA led the field, Clarence DeMar placed 20th. The Norfolk Y M A won the team prize.
A prize of 1000 pounds will be awarded to the best run waiting room in British railway stations. The judge considers excellence and variety of food, quality of tea, and overall service to determine the winner.
St Casimir Holy Name Society, atop the Paul Revere League, travels to Belmont Sunday to challenge a near-equal rival. Tuesday brings Watertown at Victory Field, a team that beat them in the first half, with a Power Park visit next Thursday for another league game.
