Maynard newsboys paraded along the boulevard in cars with banners and pennants at Revere Beach. Captain Ed Ledgard led the party with Jim Ledgard trailing, as the group rode the scenic railway and rode the chutes enjoying a day of amusements and athletics on the sand.

Inquest Held Over Five Men Killed Near Sudbury
An inquest at Framingham led by Judge Edward W. Blodgett investigated the June 28 accident at Haynes Crossing Sudbury in which five Maynard men died when their car was struck by a locomotive on the NY, NH & HR line. Edward Brown owned and operated the car. survivors Stanley Siekiewicz and Vasil Foglou ski testified along with railroad crew. Judge Blodgett prepared findings for Dist Atty Tufts.

Funeral Held for Local Soldier John M. Canavan in Boston
Mrs Ellen Sullivan and Miss Margaret Leyden attended the funeral of John M. Canavan, a soldier of the 101st Infantry AEF, held Tuesday morning from his Boston home. Columbia Post American Legion led the military service. William Moynihan, who served with Canavan, was wounded by shrapnel in the arm during the death scene. Mrs George O'Donnell and daughter Margaret of Allston visited the Misses Joyce on Spring Lane.
