One of the largest Union Church gatherings held on Tuesday January 1? members and guests filled the dining hall for the annual supper and roll call. Rev Alfred Wheeler Stone led devotion with Rev William J Batt invoking blessing.
A prize dance will be held at the State Armory Concord on Monday evening February 16 under the C Jet C club. Newell's famous seven piece orchestra of Marlboro will furnish the music. Attractive gold prizes will be awarded to winners. Dr Payson Smith MA education commissioner will speak to West Concord Woman's club Friday afternoon January 16 in Harvey school Assembly hall. Charles Porter and James Ellie of Rotary visited Chauncy-Gerland over the weekend.

Rita Bent the two year old daughter of Mr and Mrs John Bent Crest Street is home from Deaconess hospital recovering from appendicitis operation. William MacDonald bought a Dodge from Crosby and Hicks. Crosby Hicks sold a Ford Sedan to Everett Reed of South Acton. Ethel Shaughnessy of Belwood visited town for Help of Christians reunion Friday night.
Concord Lyceum will begin its 93rd season with a musical evening at the town hall Thursday evening, inviting residents to attend the opening event and enjoy performances.
A Yankee division club event at the State Armory in Boston on Saturday evening January 17 features Collins orchestra of Marlboro providing music. Funds aid the YD house and memorial with a $200000 build and a $500 quota. volunteers urged from friends and division members.
William N. Dudley formerly Newton scout master and now Concord resident has accepted the post of scout master for Concord Centre Troop 1. Troop 2 held its regular meeting at Bulkley school last Wednesday with scoutmaster Davis and assistant Henry Thorpe presenting setting up exercises signaling practice and the usual meeting program.

Robert Starbuck, sylophone player, has accepted a position with a stock company for nine months and will start for California.
A. C. Center K. S. Fobes travels to Woodstock New Brunswick on business. William Toomey remains an inmate at Deaconess hospital with severe stomach trouble. Concord attends a recent dance in Association Hall to benefit the baseball team. Mr and Mrs I Warren Flagg plan to depart Acton on June 16 for St Petersburg Florida to stay until spring.
The James J. Mansfield post hosts the next dance on Thursday evening January 15 in the State armory. The events attract Concord youth and nearby towns with Sheridan's famous jazz orchestra of Maynard providing the music.
The auction of the State owned Boys' camp furnishings at the town hall Saturday afternoon was a great success. James B. Tuttle directed the sale and acted as auctioneer with Miss Ella L. Miller as clerk and Mrs. Gertrude Daniels as cashier.
