Successful Supper Aids Parsonage Church
The Parsonage Aid Society of the Methodist church held a successful supper in the church vestry raising 75 dollars. Late B and M Train Delays Hit Lexington Branch
Inward bound passengers on the Lexington branch of the Boston and Maine were nearly two hours late after the Bedford 7 44 locomotive derailed near the Y beyond the station. The 27th annual concert and ball of Concord lodge No 212 I O O F was held Friday evening January 16 in Association hall. A large crowd attended with 35 couples forming the grand march led by NG Murdock McLeod and Mrs McLeod. Veteran Acton native dies in Santa Rosa at 80
Gilman F Hosmer, Civil War veteran and son of Acton's Simon and Harriet Hosmer, died at his Santa Rosa home after years on a Sebastopol area ranch. Born October 20 1839 in Acton, he enlisted in 1861 in Co B 6th Mass State Militia, served in U S Army, wounded at Winchester and Cedar Creek, and reenlisted for three years. He was widely esteemed and brother of Augustine Hosmer.

Mrs. Charles I. Clark learned last week of the death of her father's brother Major C. H. Lawrence in Washington D C. Lawrence served as color bearer at the first Bull Run and was commissioned major at Appomattox after Gen Lee's surrender. He spent 54 years with the government in the land department.
