Two sessions will register new voters in Concord and West Concord. The first likely runs from 7 to 9 p m at Wheeler School. The final registration before the town election is Tuesday February 10 from noon to 10 p m at the Town House. Voters from either precinct may register at either session.

Mrs Jeanette S Stensby of 3 Bedford Street was inducted as master of Concord Grange at the officers installation at Peter Bulkeley School. Other officers installed included Mrs Dorothy Warden and Miss Olive Griene with a full slate of officers and an executive committee. A future installation for Mrs Marion Clark is announced for January 21 at Middlesex Central Phenom Grange in Lexington Old Belfry Club.

A fragmented Concord caucus names Ruth Baker and J Philip Nason and Calixte Adrian as candidates for selectman while George H Nobbs declines to run again. The tie was to be broken on Thursday with two other contests also listed.

Concord report that Middlesex school resumed classes Tuesday morning after a suspension during the Yule holidays. Many students visited their homes during the break.
Concord The opening meeting of the new year of Concord Board of Trade was held at the Colonial Room of the Howard Johnson Restaurant in West Concord with about 60 members and guests. Newly elected President William F. Kussin presided and was the guest speaker after supper.
Assistant registrars will record names of all men and women aged 20 or older and also list pre school children from January 1 1942. Registrars include Mrs Garrett Nagle Mrs Elmer Brooks Peace Brigham and John Mc.
The Hawthorne Chapter Order of Eastern Star holds its next regular meeting Wednesday January 14 at 7 30 PM at Mahsonic Temple. Worthy Matron Mrs Ida Ot terson Martin will preside.
Feven and Mrs. Harvey host daughters from Kent Hill Junior College in Maine. Miss Rebecca teaches as faculty while her sister Joan Fairbanks earns honors on the first quarter honor roll.
Concord announces the annual town meeting warrants due by January 20 with article submissions to the Board of Selectmen requiring proper signatures. The citizens caucus is scheduled for January 19 at the Veterans Building. Election day is March 1 and the annual meeting on March 8 at the State Armory.
Community notes that the Red Cross transportation service has lapsed into inactivity and will be dropped. The group states it is unwise to maintain an emergency organization without need and urges transportation be requested only for serious medical emergencies to the designated coordinators at Conpeer Headquarters, Cons, or William D. Leck.
A near disaster at the Church of Christ on Great Road, Bedford, with two separate fires. Neighbor Edward O Dowd notified the department after a burning oil burner valve blew. Fire crews halted a second chimney fire, preventing greater damage to the building.
Concord Public Library opened the Midwinter Exhibition in its gallery, running January 3 to February 14. It features 26 modern Japanese woodblock prints by Hasui and Yoshida, loaned by the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, and other private collectors.
A local Citizens Committee led by Leon J. Moreau plans a testimonial banquet for Concord High School football’s undefeated teams of the past two seasons. The event is set for Saturday January 31 at 6 36 PM at the State Armory with tickets over 500 already sold.
