Crossing Tender Is Hit Attempting To Avoid Accident

A collision occurred at 8:50 on route 117 when Guy C. Arnold stalled his car on the crossing as a train approached. Tender Martin, attempting to warn the train, was killed instantly. Arnold and the train crew were not able to stop in time. Funeral arrangements are listed for Mrs. Marthe Owens.

Concord Holy Day Masses for Feast of the Decidirion

Special Masses will be held Thursday for the Feast of the Decision with no confessions Thursday evening and confessions Wednesday evening. St Bernard’s and Our Lady Church in West Concord will offer Masses at 7, 8:15, and 10:30, with an 11:00 mass at Our Lady. Christian churches in West Concord will celebrate at 3:30 and 10:30 o'clock.

Martin A. Williams 78 retired resident of West Concord died Tuesday morning at 27 Central Street after a long illness. He was a member of the Ho Name Society of Our a of Christians Church. Survived by wife Joanna and several sons and daughters. Funeral will be held tomorrow morning with a high mass of requiem in Our Lady Help of Christians Church.
