Mrs B C Wood is ill at home with erysipelas. Mrs 8 W Ellis, newly arrived in Acton last fall, is now able to be out. Mrs Roy Hunt has gone to the Homeopathic Hospital in Boston for treatment. Middlesex Farm Bureau representatives who visited town last week left a banner at the school recognizing the work of the six Can ning members of 1920 led by Mr Howe of South Acton.

Masson Lodge Hosts First Annual Ball Draws 300 Couples
Corinthian Lodge A F and S M hosts its first annual ball at the Armory on Friday night with 300 couples attending. Eddie Schell's Boston orchestra provided music as a grand march led by Mr and Mrs Will A Charles. The hall featured blue bunting, confetti, streamers, and a full all-evening program culminating in a 1 am grand march and buffet supper.

Town Election Sparks Harsh Yet Friendly Battle
The annual town election at Cooperative hall produced a fierce but cordial contest led by independents and caucus nominees. Key figures included James J. Hilferty and James Mullin defeating regular candidates for school committee and overseer of poor respectively, while Edward Carlton and Frank S. Binks were reelected as selectmen. Voter turnout reached 592, with Patrick Kane defeating Charles Garland for constable by 166 votes. Polls opened 6:30 a.m. and closed 4 p.m.

Humorous Boston Lecturer Delights Woman's Club Audience
The Woman's club at the town hall on Wednesday evening February 9 heard J. L. Harbour of Boston deliver a lecture titled Be Humor. His hour and a half of wholesome humor left the audience in high spirits. Harbour praised American humor and gave illustrations of various forms including humor of writers, the Irish and Scotch, and schoolroom and child humor. He cited Robert Louis Stevenson on making others happy as his purpose in entertaining.

Catholic Club Communion Breakfast At Warner Hall
The Catholic club of Concord Junction held its annual communion breakfast in Warner hall on February 12. About 150 men received holy communion at the 8 15 mass and then gathered for speeches. Coasters Knock Capt Dee to Ground in Narrow Escape
Capt M J Dee was struck and knocked down a hill beside the engine house after a sled shot out between A G Zeigler's store and the adjoining house. He was stunned but suffered no broken bones. The incident warns children to avoid running under passing electric cars or automobiles and to protect bystanders.
