Major George F. A. Mulcahy of Roxbury was named deputy superintendent of the Massachusetts Reformatory by Supt. Judge with the announcement at the State House by Sanford Bates. A Dartmouth and English High School alumnus, he served in France, earned the Croix de Guerre, and was cited in general orders three times for bravery. He is 29, married with one child, and has long experience in parole work and military duty during the Boston police strike. Maynard Finance Committee Weighs May Town Appropriations
The Maynard finance committee discussed warrant items for the Mareltown meeting. They recommended a $5000 appropriation to repair Ben Smith's bridge and build an eight foot sidewalk with a river crossing. A $1200 land damage settlement from the Doettling estate was proposed for road land taken last year. A $60 grant for a local game warden and a $200 Memorial Day sum were supported. An additional $300 for a card index system and related Board needs was urged. No action on a $300 public band concert appropriation. Community House Whist Party Brightens Acton Center

Body Brought for Burial of Mrs John Main
