Special Service Marks Feast of St Bridget at St Bridget's Church
The Feast of St Bridget was observed with a 10 30 a m solemn mass at St Bridget's Church led by Rev Edward F Crowley with deacon Rev John J Sweeney sub deacon Rev Edwin Walsh and a large torch bearing and choir participation. An evening sermon by Rev Edwin Walsh followed with decor and music highlighted by solos from James Farrell William Scully Richard Hilferty and Esther Lowney. Miss Marian visited the oy nus club and the sewing club began work on December with 17 members completing 705 hours of housework 91 socks darned and 17 garments nearly finished. Girl Scouts qualified in knot tying and won by Florence Clifford in a five knot contest. Boy Scouts aided the girls. Cockadoodie Crew toured poultry farms of Roland Johnson and Kenneth Bursaw for a useful lesson. Parent-Teachers Association meeting set for February 3 at South Acton Improvement Association rooms. Captain Dumaine of Concord to speak on Girl Scout ideals. Readied funds from the food sale to support Girl Scouts and PTA needs.

Enginger Wells Hurt Foot in Marlboro Train Accident
Locomotive engineer Leona R D Wells on the Marlboro branch of the B and MR met an accident Wednesday afternoon after backing a car in the yard. His left foot was crushed when it was caught under a lever as the engine disabled. He was freed after several minutes with aid from his fellow engineer.
