Farmhand Confesses to Double Murder in Stow Case
Joe Groboski 35 of Stow admitted at East Cambridge DA’s office that he killed and buried Charles Stafanovicz 56 and his wife in a Beaton farm pasture on June 1. He said he struck the elderly farmer then beat the wife, dug a grave, and hid the bodies with earth and boughs. The confession followed hours of questioning by Boston police and state detectives. he later led investigators to the scene, where a dog’s alarm helped trigger the discovery. He is held for a Middlesex Grand Jury appearance on Sept 8 with a plea of not guilty entered.
