The Midland League baseball game between Milford and Hudson high schools, set for this afternoon at Riverside Park, is moved to next Monday at 5 o'clock due to snow cover delaying field readiness. A Crimsons game with Maynard follows Friday if conditions permit.
Hanl yy 43 Central street forms Reformary Holy Name Society at Our Lady Help Christian parish. New president replaces Ed Other. officers include Charles J. Doyle as vice president Matthew Davey secretary Charles Ware treasurer. Reverend Diree assigns committee chairs Philip Mulvey Arthur King Warren Payne Joseph McCarthy Joseph Ith Charles Shechne Edward Loughlin Jr. vice president leads membership.
The Sacrament of Confirmation will be administered at the Massachusetts Reformatory on Tuesday June 24 with Archbishop Richard James Cushing officiating. The class is being instructed by Rev Joseph W Sullivan and will be followed by benediction at Our Lady Help of Christians Church.
In Concord the annual meeting and luncheon chose officers including Mrs Henry H. Hawley as president. Stedman F. Buttrick Sr was elected first vice president and Mrs F Norhan Peterson as second vice president. Frederick R. Wheeler was named another principal officer.
Concord invites curious outdoor enthusiasts to an introductory illustrated talk on Nature's Housekeeping. Miss Frances Sherburne of the Massachusetts Audubon Society will lead the session at 7 45 PM Thursday April 24 at 5 Monument Street hosted by the Concord Community Classes committee to renew old ties and meet new friends in the natural environment.
Miss Mary M. Gleason 59 of 9 Devens Street died after a 14 month illness. A solemn high requiem was held at St Bernard's Church and burial was at St Bernard's cemetery. Surviving are sister Katherine R Gleason and brother Jerome J Gleason of Wellesley formerly Concord.
Edward J. Powers vice president and assistant general manager of the Boston Garden spoke at the Concord Rotary Club luncheon. He outlined sport events at the Boston Garden as Robert D. Parks led the program and Fred T. Boyd presided. Boyd showed the mallet carved from Old North Bridge timber and read a related letter to a new Concord Rotary Club in California.
Mr and Mrs Eero Jarvi of Old Bolton road announce the birth yesterday of their daughter Linda Janet at Emerson hospital in Concord. Mrs Jarvi, formerly Irene Pekkala, already has two sons John five and Peter two. Grandparents are Mrs Sophie Pekkala of Stow and Mrs Oscar Leino of New Hampshire.
Illinois dairy herds yielded 975000000 pounds of milk during November 1946. Production figures reflect statewide dairy activity across multiple farms and regions.
The Concord High School chorus orchestra and girls glee club perform Friday April 24 at 8 pm in Wells A Hall Memorial Auditorium. Conductor Charles K Yeremian leads the program including two pieces for Massachusetts State Festival Class B. Art dept led by Miss G Valerine Delano assists with stage decor and featured students include Norma Sorli Rhoda Henry Peter Roeder Bertha Mullen Claire Austin Jennifer Dole Carol Sreenan Stephen Davis Jacqueline Collicutt Jean Blaisdell Jane Richardson Mary Magurn.
Stow police report driver Lyman H. Kilton Jr. of North Andover sustained minor injuries after his delivery truck collided with a Great Road Maynard auto driven by John Fayton. The truck rolled over near the former Fred Whitcomb house while heading toward Hudson Monday noon.
Stow Mr and Mrs John H Farrar of Old Hudson Road were surprised with a housewarming party on a sunny afternoon with attendees from Acton Maynard Bolton and Stow. The couple received a purse of money and their months old son John Farrar Jr was christened by Rev James V Miller of the Union Evangelical church with Godparents including Mrs Bernard Rafik Maynard and Torve TM of Stow. Hostesses included Mrs Hilda Torsties and Mrs Bertha Kankanpaa.

A district Boy Scouts prep camp will be held at Scout Island on Warner's Pond in West Concord. Activities begin at 2 p.m. and cover campsite selection, tent pitching, bed making, firebuilding, campfire gadgets, sanitation, menu planning, and camp fire program planning. David Todd, new district camping chairman, will lead the event preparing for the May 9 and May 16 camporees.
At the first meeting of the new Building Committee H Whittemore Brown was elected chairman and Hubert M Wardwell chosen secretary. Both are former selectmen of this town and will serve two years. Lawrence A Murray also serves two years. John J Higgins and Berkeley Wheeler take one year terms. The committee joins with Article 3 in supporting the Special Plans Committee for future town development.
Concord plans spring exhibits for the 4 H Club with events in Shirley Carlisle Framingham Reading Acton Pepperell Wayland Dracut Hankinton Westford Sudbury Wilmington and Newton from April 30 through May 20 ahead of the County Girls Day on May 24.
Funeral services for Frank H. Hort 68 formerly of 32 Walden street were held last Wednesday at a Wolsten funeral home Concord. Burial was in Braintree. Born in East Boston he was a building superintendent in Brookline and was active in the Odd Fellows. Survived by a wife Alice M Thoreau one son Frederick one grandson five brothers and three sisters.
