Concord high school opened its baseball season with a 6 3 win over Maynard high at Emerson playground. pitcher Jim Ryan allowed six hits and struck out ten. Fred Macone Jack Larrabee Jackie Flavin and Bill ONeill each had two hits. Maynard's Lefty Lankitwicz pitched for the losers.
Middlesex School releases its Spring schedule for tennis and crew. The tennis team opens with a faculty match in Concord on April 25 and includes contests with St. Mark's and St. George's on nearby courts. Crew begins May 9 against Noble and Greenough under Coach C. W. Locke, with several matches slated at various opposing schools.
Concord announces the engagement of Louise Ravel Judge daughter of Mr and Mrs Thomas A Judge Holyoke to Capt Thomas Horton Edmands son of Major and Mrs Horton Edmands Concord. Miss Judge attended Mary E Burnham School Pine Manor Wellesley Amy Sacker Decorat ing design and Mrs Ross Decorating School Boston. Capt Edmands graduated Groton and Harvard class of 1936. He played lacrosse at Harvard and belonged to Hasty Pudding Institute of 1770 and has served as staff officer at Westover Field for over a year.
The Health and Social Division led by Mrs. Herbert B. Hosmer calls for trained social service workers to register at the Concord Committee on Public Safety office at 12 Main Street.

Marvin M. Taylor longtime Worcester attorney former city councilman and school committee member died Thursday after a short illness at his son's home in Concord. Born in Jefferson New York he attended Phillips Exeter Academy and Boston University School of Law. He represented Ward 6 on Worcester City Council from 1888 to 1891 and served a three year term on the school committee. Funeral services were held Saturday at Sessions Home Chapel Worcester with burial in Hope Cemetery.
Wentworth Institute of Boston outplayed Concord Middlesex School to win 138 as Kimball left after a two run rally. Shea pitched eight innings allowing one run and six hits while Wentworth totaled 13 runs and 14 hits over the contest.

In Concord at St Bernard church on Sunday at 2 pm Miss Frances Moynihan wed Ensign Richard J. Loughlin. The bride is the daughter of Mr and Mrs T Frank Moynihan of 2 Brooks street and the groom is son of Mr and Mrs James J Loughlin of 21 Stow street. The ceremony was led by Rev Walter A Quinlan with Miss Mary Moynihan as maid of honor and Miss Barbara B Loughlin as bridesmaid. Best man was John Holmes Byron with ushers Paul Moynihan and Everett Tompkins. A reception followed at the bride’s home and the couple left by plane for Washington DC, where Ensign Loughlin must report for duty. they will reside in Washington, DC.
Concord high school closed a holiday with a 20 to 4 victory over Lexington at Emerson playground. Concord built a 6 to 4 lead, exploded for 13 runs in the eighth inning, collected 19 hits, and used six pitchers as Jim Ryan and Don Ogg split pitching duties. Captain Jack Flavin and Bily O’Neill led the offense amid a drizzly, one sided game.

The annual Patriot's Day event in Concord featured a cloudy parade and festivities including a seven-team track meet victory for Concord. The morning service at the British graves opened with bells, wreaths laid by British refugee and American children, and services led by Rev. Daniels with Scouts participating. The parade moved to the Minute Man with Dr Samuel Prescott's message, read by Jarvis Derby. Colonel Robert Goodwin gave remarks at Emerson Playground with other dignitaries and a Mass state guard drill. The day closed with a reception at the Veterans Council building and a gala finale hosted by Major Dolan and council members.

A couple aged 28 died at 28 Crane Street after a relaxing bicycle trip through Virginia and Washington, D C. The bride wore a corsage of roses reflecting a wedding mood.
Miss Bender 29 formerly of Lynn now at 24 Astor Street Lynn and Morris Pollak 27 merchant of 209 Keap Street Brooklyn obtained a license today at the Wan building. The couple will tighten their marriage plans. The bride is from Maynard daughter of Samuel and Ida Maria Bender. Pollak born in Brooklyn son of Hyman and Sara Pollak.
